He is especially knowledgeable about the waterfowl, warblers, sparrows, and raptors that define Ohio’s avifauna.
Tyler has been guiding for more than seven years for a variety of organizations, bringing deep regional expertise, patience, and a steady, encouraging teaching style to each outing. His professional background as a naturalist and his work in natural resource management, including habitat-improvement projects, further strengthen his understanding of the landscapes birds depend on.
His passion for birds began at age seven at a local banding station, where weekends spent learning from dedicated volunteers sparked a lifelong connection to ornithology. He continues to assist with the same banding operation today, adding years of hands-on experience that enrich his guiding.
