About Noah Steinberg

Originally from New York, Noah moved to Orlando in 2022 to make birding the focus of his life. Coming from a family of birders, it had long been a familiar pastime, but he began pursuing it seriously in 2021. Road trips across Florida deepened his appreciation for the state’s avifauna and confirmed that it would become home. Since moving, Noah has observed nearly 450 species and completed two Florida Big Years with his father. Although his professional background is in music production and entertainment, he considers his most meaningful work to be contributing to the Florida birding community.

While state listing remains his main focus, Noah is especially drawn to seawatching, pelagics, and shorebirding. His experience in audio engineering sparked an interest in field recording, particularly in differentiating hummingbird species through spectrogram analysis. In winter, he can often be found gulling at the Cocoa Landfill.

Noah is the co-founder and administrator of the Florida Birding Discord, the creator of rare bird alert group chats for Orange and Osceola Counties, and an eBird reviewer for Orange County and the High Seas (Northwest Atlantic Ocean).
