Raised among the forests of North Carolina and now based in the West Palm Beach area, Hannah has spent the last five years exploring Florida’s rich birding hotspots. Her fascination with wildlife began early, but it truly took flight while she earned her bachelor’s degree in Fisheries, Wildlife Biology, and Conservation Biology at North Carolina State University. A graduate-level ornithology class sealed her passion, and birds and conservation have been central to her life ever since.
Since moving to Florida, Hannah has worked professionally to rehabilitate injured birds and wildlife, managed natural habitats with the Florida Park Service, and led five consecutive years of Christmas Bird Counts and other survey efforts across South Florida. She has documented more than 250 bird species from West Palm Beach to the Florida Keys.
Hannah has a special affinity for seabirds and shorebirds and loves spending time near the ocean searching for plovers, gulls, and other coastal species. She also enjoys raptors, marsh birds, and, more recently, photographing birds and other wildlife. Above all, she is passionate about helping others discover the joy of birding and the importance of citizen science in conservation.
