Cameron was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, where he spent his childhood seeking out pockets of wildlife in an otherwise urbanized landscape. The awe he felt watching immense migratory flocks of Snow and Ross’s Geese sparked what would become a lifelong passion for ornithology. Since then, he has dedicated himself to exploring birdlife and ecosystems across North America.
Cameron has extensive professional and personal birding experience throughout Southern California, Southeastern Arizona, and all regions of Texas. He has a particular interest in the ecology and behavior of secretive species—including rails, trogons, and cuckoos—and he especially enjoys creating and sharing memorable birding experiences with others.
With a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Texas A&M University, Cameron has participated in ornithological fieldwork in Texas, Arizona, California, Florida, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Despite his broad experience, his greatest ambitions remain in Texas, where he is intent on documenting as many species as possible within his home state.
