Originally from New York, Kyle moved to Florida in 2007 to attend college on the Gulf Coast and has lived in Palm Beach County since 2011. He began birding casually in 2015, and it quickly grew into a full-fledged obsession. Over the past decade, he has become deeply familiar with Florida’s avifauna—especially in South Florida and Palm Beach County. Kyle has traveled extensively across the state, visiting every county and documenting more than 450 bird species in Florida.
An educator and mental health professional, Kyle has a particular interest in the therapeutic benefits birding provides. While he enjoys chasing rarities and searching for difficult species, he also advocates for slowing down, being mindful, and appreciating every bird encountered. He is also an avid wildlife photographer and aims to document the species he encounters wherever he goes.
Kyle has led tours for a local university as well as for regional and state Audubon chapters. He currently serves as an eBird reviewer for Palm Beach County.
