Jodhan Fine is a 22-year-old birder and naturalist. Born and raised in Albuquerque, he lived in New Mexico until moving to Los Angeles in 2021, where he immersed himself in California’s rich birdlife. A nature lover since birth and a birder since 2016, Jodhan loves showing people new places and species and gets just as excited helping a friend find a lifer as he does finding one himself. He appreciates any opportunity to look at birds but especially enjoys pelagics, migrant traps, and coastal wetlands. Though he has traveled widely, he never tires of local birding, with its abundance of species and constant surprises.
Jodhan is a regional eBird reviewer for New Mexico, a member of the New Mexico Bird Records Committee, a co-compiler of New Mexico’s North American Birds regional reports, and a former board member of Central New Mexico Audubon Society. He has written occasionally for ABA journals and Western Birds, and recently completed a small native bird guide for a Los Angeles land conservancy. His past research includes work on Bell’s Vireo nest parasitism in New Mexico, and more recently, studies of wildlife corridors and connectivity in Los Angeles’ urban ecosystem.
