Michael Sadat is a lifelong Tucsonan with thirty years of birding experience in southern Arizona. He was introduced to backyard birds by his grandpa at age nine, and his local birding community through Tucson Bird Alliance. Since then, he has shared his love of birds widely, turning outings with non-birder friends and family into impromptu bird walks. Birding also sparked a deep interest in Sonoran plant life and its unique relationship with birds. Photography and field recording have further enriched his time in the field and strengthened his ability to share observations with others. Michael is happiest wherever birds are thriving, whether in remote riparian habitat or at urban backyard feeders.
Michael leads weekly bird walks as a docent at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and monthly walks at Mission Garden. His bird photography has been featured by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, the Tucson Botanical Gardens, Arizona Illustrated and The Southwest Native Plant Primer.
