Dorian, a native Tucsonan, found his love for birding at the age of 13 at the Sulphur Springs Valley Young Birders Camp in the Chiricahua Mountains.
His top habitats include high-elevation conifer forests and riparian corridors; however, he will find birds wherever he can. He has been fortunate to bird across the United States and in Costa Rica. His passion for the natural world also extends to butterflies.
Dorian has participated in numerous bird surveys, bird festivals, bird counts, bird walks, and other activities with the Tucson Audubon Society, Wings Over Willcox, and the Sulphur Springs Valley Young Birders Camp that first sparked his passion for birds. He has volunteered at the Paton Center for Hummingbirds, was honored to receive the first-ever Bill Thompson Young Birder Award from the Tucson Audubon Society, and served as a Junior Docent at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum for four years.
