Nick discovered his passion for birds at an early age, a fascination that has since grown into both a career and a lifelong pursuit. Originally from Kansas, he has birded extensively throughout his home state, developing a deep knowledge of its birdlife and diverse habitats.
Since graduating college in 2019, Nick has traveled widely across the United States, working with a variety of species—including Black-capped Vireos and Kirtland’s Warblers—and conducting bird surveys in states such as California, Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico.
While his professional work is rooted in research and conservation, Nick is equally enthusiastic about sharing birds with others. He enjoys guiding birders of all experience levels, from those seeking their first lifer to seasoned naturalists hoping to deepen their understanding of bird behavior, identification, and ecology. He is especially drawn to exploring underbirded and underappreciated regions, particularly the Great Plains, where he delights in finding unexpected species and helping others connect with the landscapes that sustain them.
