About Charles Holder

Charles Holder is a wildlife guide based in Freeport, Texas, working the coastal marshes and birding hotspots along the Gulf Coast. Though recently relocated to the area, he brings a strong background in field guiding and wildlife interpretation developed through years of hands-on experience working with a wide range of species in both educational and outdoor settings.

He specializes in making wildlife approachable and engaging, with a guiding style that is relaxed, conversational, and focused on helping guests actually understand the ecosystems they’re seeing, not just check off species. His experience spans up-close work with diverse wildlife and public education, giving him a strong foundation in reading animal behavior and communicating it in a way that’s easy to connect with in the field.

Now based in Freeport, Charles is actively building deep local knowledge of coastal bird life, from year-round residents to seasonal migrants moving through the region. He aims to combine that growing regional expertise with his broader wildlife background to offer guided experiences that feel personal, informative, and grounded in real field time.
